Greetings! My name is Jonathon Rosenthal, I am one of the three head chairs of MISTI-Con and the logistics chair. My job is to make sure all the various components of our convention fit together.
As one of the head chairs, I also firmly believe that your enjoyment of MISTI-Con is my utmost responsibility. I will strive to make this convention the best it can be for Harry Potter fans of all kinds.
As the year goes by you will be hearing from me often, so if you have any questions or concerns always feel free to post in the appropriate forums, or contact me directly at info@misti-con.org
To let you know more about me personally, I have been a Harry Potter fan since book 4's release. I started reading the books when my boss, normally the kind of guy who reads Jack London, told me that I HAD to read these books. Needless to say I got hooked.
For the last several years I have been the Head Organizer of The Group That Shall Not Be Named - Harry Potter NYC. My goal as an organizer has always been to bring to other people the benefits that Harry Potter fandom has brought to me. I have met some of the most incredible people in my life and have had experiences I never in a thousand years would have expected to have.
I am also semi-involved in Steampunk, and cosplay Cornelius Fudge, Horace Slughorn, a Ravenclaw student, a Ravenclaw Professor, and occasionally a random Death Eater.
I hope you find these forums useful and hopefully gain new friends even before the con begins!
Yours in Wizarding, Jonathon Rosenthal

Hi, I'm Clay Dockery, another of the three Head Chairs of MISTI-Con and the financials chair. I'm the person to talk to with any all questions regarding donations, registrations, payments, and whatnot of the financial sort. Please send any inquiries to treasurer@misti-con.org! What can you know about me: to quote an old friend- "Clay is an enigma, he is controled chaos, everything and nothing. He drives me out of my mind..." and an even older friend, "Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes." I fell in love with the HP community fairly recently, when I returned to NYC in the fall of 2010, but I have become completely obsessed with all aspects of fandom in the time since then. I picked up the Potter books for the first time in 2000 and have never put them down. I also have a busy and avid life away from the wand and can wax philosophic on topics from the archaic to the esoteric. (Including History, Philosophy and Theology in which I have degrees.) I am a huge Whovian too! I have gotten into cosplay too- I'm often Remus, Zeno, or Gilderoy. (though I also have been known to dabble in Slytherin as Warington or Snape.) I also cosplay lots of other fandoms like Dr. Who- 11 (soon to add 5! and hopefully the Brig!) and Marvel- Beast! I am House Curious and plan to stay that way. As all of my friends will tell you, I like to sample a bit of everything that's out there.

Hello,
My name is Carol Riot Kane - I also go by Datura Snape.
I am an artist, I currently work in a studio building props. My job is to build props and help make this con look awesome! It is my goal to make this place look and feel like you've stepped into an all Potter Zone - which it will be - no Muggles!) I want everyone to have fun taking cosplay shots in front of what I build. I will post some previews of what I build. The con is still a year away but already I'm starting!
Houses you ask? I am a Slytherin. I love my house. Slytherins are not evil, and the snakes aren't either. Serpents are guardians and healers. Serpents are graceful creatures in tune with the rhythms of the Earth. Forget what they told you - we are not the devil. We only bite if you give us a reason.... or if you ask nicely.
Whew.
Before I found Harry Potter, I was an exhibiting artist with a gallery in Brooklyn New York. I love to draw illustrations and build massive sculptural installations. I sew, I design clothes and make all my own cosplay gear. I am a huge fan of music, I used to follow the band Nine Inch Nails, so if you have any questions about traveling - ask me. And don't worry if you are traveling alone to the con - I met all of my best friends going to shows and through Harry Potter. You might be coming to MISTI-Con alone, but you will leave with friends and family who will be with you for the rest of your life!
Not too surpassingly - given my name and former affinity - I am huge Snape fan. I have moved beyond Cosplay and I now Coslife Snape. I draw Snape fan art and write Snape fan fic - which I love, its one of my favorite things to do.
Above all, the best thing in my life is the group of people I spend most of my time with The Group That Shall Not Be Named, and those running this con. I consider them family, blood of my blood and I love them dearly. I can't wait for you all to come to the con and be a part of this wonderful group of people!
PS. SNAPE LIVES!!!

Bonjour!
I'm Selina and I am very excited about Misti-Con. I currently reside in Manchester, NH, so if you folks need anyone local to the area, hit me up!
I have been an avid Harry Potter fan since 6th grade, which I believe was 1999. My first love will ALWAYS be the Harry Potter books and I am a shameless Draco/Hermione fanfic fan. I can be a fan of just about any type of fanfic!
I am really interested in the academic side of the HP world, and I wrote my 30,000 word thesis on Harry Potter and how it has formed a new version of 21st century cultural racism, but how it then combats it in a positive way.
I have always been a Slytherin, and boy would I love to Slytherin bed with Draco Malfoy! LOL
I teach English at Southern New Hampshire University, and I greatly enjoy imposing my Harry Potter beliefs on my impressionable college students!
I'm excited to get to know everyone involved!
Selina xoxo

Herro. I'm Meg (although I go by so many nicknames I forget that's my name half the time). I am extremely excited for Misti-Con. Although it will be my first Harry Potter convention it will be far from my first convention ever.
I learned how to read with Harry Potter. My mom and I would take turns reading chapters until I fell asleep when I was in 1st grade and 2nd grade. Eventually I was able to read them on my own but some great memories were made as a result of this series.
I am a full blown Slytherin and death eater. I have a slight obsession with everything death eater and dark arts based. I have seen every movie several times and am going to see Potted Potter on friday! I randomly spurt lines from Harry potter, a Very Potter Musical, A very Potter Sequel an Potter Puppet Pals.
Although I am a huge Harry Potter fan I am also a he fan of many other things and often refer to myself as a full blown geek. I am going to be a freshman at Hofstra University in the fall studying english and music and I reign from Long Island (although I truly wish I lived in NYC).
I'm hoping to help out however possible with this con and I can't wait to go and meet lots of new people. Well I'm not sure what else to put here but if anyone needs help with something, message me. I love to help. Otherwise, thats it i think...
Meg (a death eater in training)

Hello all! My "online name" is SERADE BLACK. This will be my 9th (OMG) HP con and I'm absolutely tickled to be going. My real name is Shannon. I was most recently at ASCENDIO where I met Clay and Christine that there I was schooled about MistiCon.
I Cosplay Bellatrix, my husband now cosplays Sirius (odd couple, I know) and I'm one of the directors of the Live! Wizard Chessmatch @ Infinitus and the Live! Alumni House Tournament @ Ascendio.
We look forward to bringing a few cast members along to do something wicked awesome, that only true HARDCORE fans can appreciate!
See you soon!

Hello! My name is Talia and I am very excited about Misti-Con. This will be my 3rd con, I was also just at Ascendio, but my first was the Witching Hour back in 2005. I guess I was out of the loop for a while.
I have been an avid Harry Potter enthusiast for about 10 years now. I was a little of a late bloomer, I didn't really know anything about Harry Potter until I was an adult and, I believe, the 2nd film was out. As soon as I started reading the first book I was totally sucked in and been a fanatic ever since. I am a proud Slytherin (been sorted into this house many times now, so I guess I can trust that's where I belong;) and Severus is definitely my favorite character.
I have always been a bit shy, kind of hid my love of HP and never really stood out much or talked to people at previous cons, but I am starting to come out of my shell a bit, getting a little interested in Cosplay and look forward to meeting new people at Misti-Con.

Why do I feel like I am at a chocoholics meeting? Hello my name is Droxy Yaxley and I am a Potter addict. =)
My first HP con was Phoenix Rising in New Orleans. I lost count after 10 cons. I was at Aeternitas in New Hampshire, and I loved the venue and set up and so happy the volunteers are taking on the load of con organization again at the Margate. I really like the smaller con venue because we can actually talk to each other! I'm a bit tired still from Acendio. I have costumes to repair and costumes to make. I am a hard core Snape fan, and I moderate SS/HG writing sites. I like to think I am decent with photoshop. Death Eater rule, because villians have more fun! I'm an "middle aged" HP fan. HP helped me discover fun after working grueling hours in IT systems that would seem archahic by today's standards. I'm a Ravenclaw.

Hi, everyone! I'm Carol Oster and Misti will be my second HP con - because I'm going to Leaky in just three weeks! Sorry I missed Ascendio! I've been a Harry Potter fan since the first movie - I had ceded the books to my younger daughter, but admit to having mundungused them as soon as she and I got back from the theater. Now, the books RULE!
I got involved in the fandom in a small way when I helped host the release party for Deathly Hallows at our local Barnes and Nobles... I'd been turning magic wands and the event coordinator saw them and invited me to participate... it blew up into something wonderful. But what REALLY got me hooked into the fandom was participating in the Magic is Might Experience on Facebook last year. Since then, I've been writing fanfic, reading fanfic, and meeting all kinds of lovely, incredible, creative people. Since January of this year, I've also been the Dean of Students at myHogwarts.co.uk, working with the most creative, wonderful, GENIUS people I've ever had the honor to know. <3<3<3
House: Ravenclaw Member: Dumbledore's Army Characters: 3 in the MiM and post-MiM world - all named Carol Oster, because I didn't know what I was doing when I created them - a wandcrafter, a therapist to witches and wizards (quite a lot of fun to hold joint sessions with Tonks and Voldy, I assure you), and a 16 year old Ravenclaw student with a mad crush on Snape - so I can rp my fantasies. *grin*
In real life - but then, who wants to live THERE??? - I'm a clinical psychologist - and former Dean of Students at a graduate school of psychology. This year, I'm committed to being my true self and letting out my inner geek. So excited that Misti will be a part of that! Can't wait to see you all there!

I'm James. I'm a lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy in all media forms, especially Star Trek, Star Wars, Space: 1999, Firefly, DC Universe, and many authors of SF. I'm a member of the Rhode Island Science Fiction Club and i'm cohost on a local television show called Sci-Fi Journal where I do the anime and HP news.
I read all the HP books in Fall of '07, I'm a Snape cosplayer and make my own costumes. I've been to many sci-fi conventions over the years like Boskone, Arisia, and others in New England, and for HP cons: LeakyCon '09 and Aeternitas 2011. I'm also a huge fan of Quidditch and have gone to the last 2 Quidditch World Cups in NYC.
I'm looking forward to working to make MISTI-Con a huge success!

Hey there. I'm Melissa D. Aaron, also known in fandom as Moonyprof.
I'm probably not going to be at the con, alas, but I'd like to keep an eye on things, maybe kibitz a bit, that kind of thing.
My specialty is Shakespeare. I've got a book out on Shakespeare's company as a business, and you should all go and buy a copy because it sold terribly. I've also done work on all-female Shakespeare companies, so the whole topic of women playing men interests me.
In HP terms, I've been reading the books since 1999. I first presented at The Witching Hour in 2005, on werewolves in the Duchess of Malfi. Fast forward to 2012, and I've presented at five more HP cons, given a talk or two at Whimsic Alley and for the Los Angeles Dumbledore's Army, and started up a Harry Potter course at my college. I have students who want to start a Quidditch team, so I might wind up being a faculty advisor.
I'm watching how things go with the convention. I can see it's going to be a big success.

Hello, all! I'm Cass Morris, native to and currently residing in Virginia. Ascendio was my first fandom con, and since it was about the most fun I've had in my life, I knew I had to sign up for Misti (especially when I saw there'd be a line of Death Eater programming!). I've been in HP fandom over a decade now (mostly on LJ), though my involvement had sort of fallen off the past couple of years -- Ascendio has definitely reinvigorated me! I spent several years writing fanfic for, role-playing, and cosplaying Bellatrix, with a broader focus on the House of Black, Death Eaters, and pureblood society in general. I am, naturally, of Slytherin House. I've also done some stuff with the Founders and with some OC Ravenclaws, and I spent most of my time at Ascendio as a member of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad (I was the blonde with the plaited hair), though I did also put in appearances as Bella and Rowena. While I want May to get here as soon as can be, I'm looking forward to using the intervening months to up the ante on my costumes and to get my geekery back in the top form it was at during the pinnacle of my fandom involvement. In real life, I have degrees in English lit with a focus on medieval, Renaissance, & Shakespeare studies, and I work in the education department of a Shakespeare theatre. I hope someday to be able to write (fiction) full-time. I'm RogueBelle pretty much everywhere on the Internet that matters (Twitter, Tumblr, AO3, LJ, etc). Cheers! Cass

Hello! Alyse and I are from Boston. She's been going to these cons for years; I started at Infinitus. At Aeternitas, I met some of the TGTSNBN and started drinking the cosplay kool-aid. Didn't do much for Ascendio, but I have wildly grand plans for MISTI: we'll see how they hold up against the Harsh Light of Reality. We are both very much looking forward to MISTI.
