Greetings! My name is Jonathon Rosenthal, I am one of the three head chairs of MISTI-Con and the logistics chair. My job is to make sure all the various components of our convention fit together.
As one of the head chairs, I also firmly believe that your enjoyment of MISTI-Con is my utmost responsibility. I will strive to make this convention the best it can be for Harry Potter fans of all kinds.
As the year goes by you will be hearing from me often, so if you have any questions or concerns always feel free to post in the appropriate forums, or contact me directly at info@misti-con.org
To let you know more about me personally, I have been a Harry Potter fan since book 4's release. I started reading the books when my boss, normally the kind of guy who reads Jack London, told me that I HAD to read these books. Needless to say I got hooked.
For the last several years I have been the Head Organizer of The Group That Shall Not Be Named - Harry Potter NYC. My goal as an organizer has always been to bring to other people the benefits that Harry Potter fandom has brought to me. I have met some of the most incredible people in my life and have had experiences I never in a thousand years would have expected to have.
I am also semi-involved in Steampunk, and cosplay Cornelius Fudge, Horace Slughorn, a Ravenclaw student, a Ravenclaw Professor, and occasionally a random Death Eater.
I hope you find these forums useful and hopefully gain new friends even before the con begins!
Yours in Wizarding, Jonathon Rosenthal

Hello anyone out there!
My name is Annette and I'm supremely excited for this con.
I've been to Leaky 09, Infinitus 10, Leaky 11,12,14. I loved them all, but would like to experience something new. From my MISTI lurking I can see you're more costumers, and older than Leaky's crowd, which is something I've really really noticed missing from Leaky. Plus, I like that this is pure HP.
I live in the Chicago IL suburbs and always wistfully watch what your NY HP group does, wishing we had such a crowd here.
Costumes I've done are Bellatrix, Patronus to my Snape, Lily, and just Slytherin student. I plan to wear some "general witch" outfit at MISTI for at least one day. Not sure if I'll bring all of the others.
Non HP things about me hmmm. I work full time, live with my boyfriend who is coming to MISTI also, and love my cats. I used to craft/sell, and hopefully could get back into it before MISTI.
Fandoms- general fantasy, LotR, GoT, also MLP, a bit of Doctor Who, but I fell out of it lately.

Hi and thanks Jonathon! I swear there have been so many moments when I'm sitting on my couch and just exclaim, "Aw, the new york group is doing X.." I want to move purely for HP events.
I didn't even take all costumes to Leaky this year, and it all barely fit into my suitcases. Driving would be a good idea for more luggage space, but it feels like a waste of time. I'm stuck between 2 new costume ideas: Either "Annette as a witch in the wizarding world" (something gothy, witchy, slytheriny, maybe pygmy puffs/magical creatures and potion bottles involved) Or a "Ball Patronus" outfit. Get a fancier silver dress than i have now and be snape's doe.
I only want to commit to one new thing for money & packing purposes so I don't know..
I keep thinking about this trip, and want to reply to every FB Group comment. I hope people post on the forum more, I need an excitement outlet.

Siobhra DeWar At my age (67) I don't play a student. Alumni from the class of 66. I have never done a Potter Con before but have done several Star Trek Cons. Klingon. As a Potterhead I play a Huffelpuff alumni who's uniform still fits. If I drive I will also bring my "Kissing Booth". I made a booth to offer free kisses. Only then I am dressed as a Dementor. I have brought it to several comic-cons in my area. My grandsons tell me that they like to hang with me but their mother (my daughter) is too old to do the things we do. My day job is boring as it is like working in Gringott's Bank. I am an accountant for a division of Lexis-Nexis.

I'm not sure where to ask this question. I jumped into the FundRazr, and I have a $300 VIP Registration. I'm wondering exactly what that gets me into? (Does it include the Keynote Luncheon and the Murder Mystery Dinner?)
My husband has decided to come along with me, and I want to make sure that he's got tickets to everything I go to.

Hi, Missy! I'm not an official MISTI staff member or anything, but the FundRazr said the following for the $300 Minister's VIP Package, and from this I'd expect you have tickets to both the Keynote Luncheon and the Murder Mystery Dinner:
"You will receive our Minister's VIP registration to MISTI-Con. This registration includes everything in the FundRazr early-bird registration and tickets to the keynote, dinner theater, and priority seating at all events and your name listed in our con program and website. BONUS FOR THE FIRST 15 VIPS: The first 15 people to contribute at this level will also receive an Order of Wulfric pin. A limited edition custom design pin, only provided via our fund raising periods. There are very few of these remaining!"
